A recent holiday in the US ended with 5 fantastic nights in Miami. I checked the Qantas website each day for about 4 weeks to keep an eye on award flights, and finally decided to connect through Dallas on to Sydney. Business class on American Airlines 772 to Dallas, then first class on the Qantas A380. A bit of a treat to have a mini business suite on a 90 minute flight. Qantas operates both it's standard B737 between Sydney and Melbourne, as well as its more premium A330-200. On a recent trip to Boston, I booked a 7:35am Cathay flight using Asia Miles from Melbourne - so needed to get myself to Melbourne the evening before. Virgin Australia business class on their B737 is a great way to get to New Zealand. Check-in was expectedly uneventful, with the Virgin Australia business class counters checking in guests for this flight to Auckland only. Yeah it's nothing special. Yeah it's small. But it's Virgin Australia's only international lounge - which is great. The Virgin Australia Lounge Wellington opened in April 2019, marking their very first (and still only) international lounge.
