Entry to the Qantas Lounge Sydney Domestic There are 2 Qantas lounges at Sydney domestic airport. There is the Qantas club, which is available to Qantas Club members. And then there is the Qantas business lounge, which is available to business class guests, as well as platinum and platinum one Qantas frequent flyers. So the Qantas Business Lounge is the more premium of the two. I visited this lounge before a Qantas A332 business class flight from Sydney to Melbourne. You can see that review here. The Qantas Business Lounge Space This is...

Entry to the Cathay Pacific Lounge Melbourne The Cathay Pacific Lounge Melbourne international airport is available to business, first and premium frequent flyers of any Oneworld airline flight departing Melbourne. This includes Qantas, Cathay, Qatar, etc. To access the lounge you need to follow the signs down the escalators towards the lounges, go past the Qantas lounge, and around to the left. I visited this lounge before a recent flight to Hong Kong - you can read that review here. The Cathay Lounge Space It's a small lounge, in the basement level of...

A recent holiday in the US ended with 5 fantastic nights in Miami. I checked the Qantas website each day for about 4 weeks to keep an eye on award flights, and finally decided to connect through Dallas on to Sydney. Business class on American Airlines 772 to Dallas, then first class on the Qantas A380. It did seem a bit luxurious using so many points on first class, but you need to fly first class at some stage, and I'm not a fan of the Qantas A380...

Delta 717 first class is a narrow seat with limited food options. It's easy for Australians flying in the US to get excited when noticing they're booked in first class with Delta. The truth is that Delta doesn't use the term 'business class' at all. Delta's premium cabin on larger international aircraft is Delta One, which is their all-aisle access & flat bed offering. On their smaller aircraft, the only premium cabin is first class (which is what we in Australia would refer to as business class). Delta 717 First...

Our flight from Boston to Orlando (via Raleigh-Durham) left from terminal 2. So we visited the Delta Sky Club Logan airport before our flight. Think a first class ticket gets you into this lounge? It doesn't. Lucky my velocity Gold card does though. The lounge is right on the left of security screening - easy to find, up some stairs. The Space at Delta Sky Club Logan Airport The Delta Sky Club Logan airport (Boston) is a modern space, decked out in clean whites with darker blue seating. The lounge wraps...

A bit of a treat to have a mini business suite on a 90 minute flight. Qantas operates both it's standard B737 between Sydney and Melbourne, as well as its more premium A330-200. On a recent trip to Boston, I booked a 7:35am Cathay flight using Asia Miles from Melbourne - so needed to get myself to Melbourne the evening before. Table cloths and a plated meal were served with delicious wines, on this short 90 minute flight to Melbourne. Sounds impressive - but the meal was a let down. Booking It...

Virgin Australia business class on their B737 is a great way to get to New Zealand. Check-in was expectedly uneventful, with the Virgin Australia business class counters checking in guests for this flight to Auckland only. No other Virgin Australia flights were departing anywhere near he 3:40pm departure. Booking This particular trip was a work trip to Auckland, so was booked through our corporate travel supplier. What I didn't realise, when I sent my dates and times to them, was that the business saver fare would have only been $10 more...

Yeah it's nothing special. Yeah it's small. But it's Virgin Australia's only international lounge - which is great. The Virgin Australia Lounge Wellington opened in April 2019, marking their very first (and still only) international lounge. The lounge can be hard to find, so but once you leave the duty free zone - head straight ahead into the dome and you'll see a self service door to the left of gate 48. Virgin has more than twice as many flights from Auckland to Australia than Wellington, so building this lounge...

A comparison of Sydney Airport Lounges Sydney airport ranked number 21 in the Skytrax World Airport awards for 2019. Which is a pretty good effort. Apart from the current renovation of the express path through immigration and security, I think Sydney airport is fantastic. The huge ceilings give a feeling of space and calm, and there's loads of new shops and restaurant quality food options. But nothing beats the comfort and inclusions of being able to visit any of the Sydney Airport lounges! Air NZ Lounge I'll start with one of...
